Easy guacamole dip
Guacamole is one very good sauce, often used as a dip for chips, crisps, doritos and roasted poultry.
One thing that is not widely known for Guacamole is: The ingredients are very rich on vitamins and natural oils and Guacamole sauce in general is excellent chelating agent for metal and cyanide poisoning.
It will make the immune system stronger and if more garlic and hot chili pepper are used, guacamole will also be good for treating common cold.
The original recipe was meant to be just mashed avocados with sea salt, but at present days it mutated to at least 5 basic recipes.
Some use mashed with fork avocados, others blend them until smooth.
Some use chilli peppers, others use chilli sauce.
Some add coriander, others don't.
Probably there are more recipes, that we don't know.
The one I often make for myself needs the following:
Ingredients
- 2 avocados (medium), mashed
- 1 lemon, freshly squeezed
- 1 red onion (small), chopped to dices
- 1 tomato (small), chopped to dices
- 3 garlic cloves, finely choped
- 1 cayenne pepper, diced
- salt, just a pinch
- 1 tsp corriander
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation (5 minutes)
Peel or scoop the avocados and then mash them with a big fork to a pulp.
Cut the onion and tomato into tiny dices and add them over the avocado pulp.
Crush 3-4 cloves of garlic in a garlic press.
Add the lemon/lime juice and the other spices.
Mix well, until smooth.
I prefer it this ways with small vegetable chunks, but you may also use a chopper/blender and make it to a smoothie.
Smoothies are better for smearing over a slice of bread or as a dip for doritos, but the same is valid for the more chunky kind.
